FAN DEATH - 2012 BIOGRAPHY
FAN DEATH re-awakens in 2012 with a series of singles, EPs and videos culminating in the release of the haunting “sssistersss” LP at the close of the year. Partnered with blood sisters Kasia Elizabeth and Tessa Marie, producer Szam Findlay has emerged from an 18 month hiatus having crafted the most intricate and enigmatic Fan Death recordings to date. Elaborating on the promise of debut LP “Womb Of Dreams” the “sssistersss” body of work remains as melodious as in the past while moving beyond with refined dreamlike vocals and elegantly crystalline production.
Propelled by elaborate self funded videos, Fan Death exploded in 2008 with the successive club hits “Veronica’s Veil” and “Reunited.” Early adopter Erol Alkan released the debut single on his Phantasy Sounds imprint which led to an eruption of international interest. Press adoration flowed from a who’s who of publications: NME, Fader, Spin, Playboy, Nylon, Sunday Times Of London, Mixmag, DJ, The Guardian, Dazed and Confused… The list goes on and on. The sum result being the mid 2009 signing of Fan Death to Mercury Records in Europe and Last Gang Records in North America.
Extensive touring followed : Fan Death opened for Vampire Weekend on their sold out European tour, playing to thousands in storied venues such as London’s Brixton Academy, L’Olympia in Paris, Manchester Apollo, Paradiso in Amsterdam
and in countless other European capitals.
Gigs alongside Franz Ferdinand, Florence and the Machine, Peaches, Metronomy, Ting Tings and others as well high profile festivals like Les Inrocks – Paris, Great Escape - Brighton, WMC - Miami and Afisha - Moscow helped to solidify the global profile of the band.
In between the whirlwind touring, press, videos and releases, Fan Death also somehow found time to remix Ladyhawke, Frankmusik, The Virgins, Lindstrom, Datarock and others.
Despite all of this good fortune; Illness, exhaustion and interpersonal turmoil cut short the potential of the band in 2010 as they were on the cusp…
Flash forward to 2012 and the project is in top form.

“Gently take my hand and I will show you.
There are places you and her would never go to.
Softly kiss me boy and I will show you.
A world you’ve never been to…”
